About the role
The Enterprise Business Development Manager role is an exciting opportunity to join Medianet, an established B2B PR intelligence company in Australia.
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to drive significant revenue growth for our media monitoring and intelligence platform. This role focuses on acquiring new enterprise and government clients via direct approach, navigating complex sales cycles and securing high-value contracts. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the media monitoring and intelligence industry and suite of products, a proven track record of exceeding sales targets and the ability to contribute strategic insights to refine our market approach.
Responsibilities include
* Proactively identify, target, and cultivate new business opportunities within the enterprise sector (e.g., ASX 200, large government agencies, major universities).
* Develop and execute targeted outreach strategies to generate new leads and build a robust sales pipeline.
* Conduct in-depth discovery sessions to understand the complex needs and challenges of prospective clients, mapping their problems to our solutions.
* Build complex commercial proposals and business cases independently, ensuring strong ROI and financial viability. Manage a complex sales cycle, navigating procurement, legal and multiple decision-makers.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders (finance, product, operations) to tailor solutions that meet the customer's needs.
* Conduct thorough needs analysis to understand client challenges and position our platform as the optimal solution.
* Build and nurture relationships with senior executives (Communications, CMOs, C-suite) and key stakeholders to foster trust and drive results.
* Navigate complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles (typically 3–12 months), building consensus and tailoring solutions to client needs.
* Develop compelling proposals that highlight the value proposition of our media monitoring intelligence platform.
* Occasionally represent the company at industry events, trade shows and high-level business engagements.
* Exceed individual budget expectations and agreed KPIs.
Collaboration and Support
* Collaborate and knowledge share effectively with cross-functional teams, including the leadership team, sales, marketing, product development and customer success.
* Provide support to the Head of Commercial as needed.
* Share best practices and contribute to the overall success of the sales organisation.
* Provide accurate sales forecasting and reporting via CRM systems.
Who we're looking for
We are looking for a driven, motivated and ambitious individual, who is results-focused and passionate about sales.
In order to be successful in this role, you will:
* Have 7+ years' experience working in a B2B enterprise sales role within a SaaS or technology environment
* Knowledge of the Australian media monitoring and intelligence landscape
* Extensive and demonstrable success in sales/business development
* Ideally have experience selling SaaS or B2B software
* Strong phone-based and face-to-face sales experience
* Experience and willingness to cold-call
* Ability to engage and sell to all levels of seniority
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
