Mornington Secondary College is a school of approximately 900 students situated approximately 70km south east of Melbourne which comprises of 50 teachers and 15 non-teaching school support staff. The College offers an extensive curriculum base to enable students to follow and achieve in a variety of pathways supported by whole school Pathways programs.

The College has outstanding facilities which include a heated indoor 25m swimming pool, performing arts theatre, a three court indoor basketball stadium, a large oval and athletics precinct, and a year 12 centre.

The College provides a breadth of educational and vocational opportunities in the senior school. Hands on Learning and Headstart are also offered to students across year levels.

The College actively supports student participation in inter-school sports and leadership programs. Sporting teams, in particular, contribute to both team and individual levels of excellence at local, zone, district and state levels.

Selection Criteria

Role

They will be the face of the College greeting and assisting visitors to the College including inductions.

The individual in this role will be responsible for the marketing of the College under the guidance of a marketing plan, directed by the Principal.

They will play an integral part of ensuring that whole school events are run professionally, by providing administration support as directed.

They will be required to attend and be an active participant in office meetings. Also, actively endeavour to share important information using the Office One Note Hub.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Business Manager and Principal, the Marketing & Reception Person will be responsible for the Marketing of the College and provide general administrative and First Aide support.

The main responsibilities are:

- Provide internal staff with professional administrative support including taking accurate and properly detailed messages, word processing duties, attending to routine correspondence when required.
- As the first point of contact, and our main marketing person endeavour to answer telephone enquiries in an efficient, friendly and professional manner.
- Assist with creating posters and advertising materials for the school
- Maintain familiarity with school priorities, so an enquiry can be directed to the most appropriate member of staff promptly.
- Distribute all emails from the School email
- Order the necessary office supplies for the Administration team and paper supplies for the college.
- Ensure the front office and reception is always clean, tidy and reflective of the culture that we want to maintain- eg ensure the artwork displayed is regularly changed
- When organising meetings, ensure that you set up and clean up the conference/meeting room and main staff room
- Book the rooms
- Set up for meetings, water, tea and coffee, minutes, agendas etc
- After meeting place everything in the dishwasher and empty it
- Ensure the conference room and meeting rooms are set up, clean ready for meetings
- Assist with the catering needs for the PCO team
- Order cleaning supplies for Spotless. The cleaners will inform of what products to order.
- Order planners and diaries for all staff
- Back up First Aide in rotation with other qualified ES staff

Marketing

- Follow marketing plan prepared by outside agencies.
- Prepare and publish Colleges newsletter each week for 9am each Friday.
- Prepare and publish College staff newsletter for 4pm each Monday fortnightly.
- Assist with school publications including prospectus
- Ensure timely preparation of social media posts.
- Ensure timely preparation of articles for the Colleges front digital noticeboard.
- Ensure the College¿s website is kept up to date.
- Updating of School Policies in accordance with DET guidelines.
- Ensure College website is up to date with the latest policies.
- Take photographs of important school events or organise for others to supply photographs.
- Attend meetings with Principal and Business Manager to ensure that we are on track with the marketing plan
- Event Management
- Coordinate Whole School Events
- ANZAC day
- Remembrance Day
- Assist the transition team with Open Night
- Awards (presentation) Night
- Other events as directed

Other

- Attend professional development and training required by the school, and actively seek opportunities to increase knowledge, experience, and skills.
- Attend fortnightly office meetings.
- Other duties as assigned by the Business Manager or the Principal.
- All staff are expected to read and communicate through messaging on TEAMS or emails as well as face to face meetings.
- It is the responsibility of each individual to be up to date with events happening throughout the College, to assist with this your outlook Calendar should be set up to include the College Calendar.

Qualifications/Experience/Knowledge

- Participate in ongoing professional development plans as directed by DET.
- Certificate or Bachelor in Business Marketing or similar
- Current Level 2 First Aid Certificate
- Sound knowledge of office administration and accounting procedures.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Flexibility and ability to work under pressure in fast-paced, environment.
- Strong administration skills, organised, thorough, systems orientated with meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to communicate at all levels.
- Ability to use Canva, Cases21 and Compass an advantage
- Familiar with Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms
- Excellent levels of computer literacy.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
- Participate in ongoing professional development plans as directed by DET and the Business Manager
