Provide targeted support to students with disability and access requirements to ensure more effective engagement through studies using Assistive Technologies.

About the Position
As the Digital Accessibility Project Officer, you will be responsible for providing targeted support to students with disability and access requirements, enabling more effective engagement with their studies through the use of assistive technologies (AT).
This student-focused role includes training, troubleshooting, and developing accessible learning tools, as well as contributing to inclusive communication by producing newsletters and maintaining student-facing platforms such as the Neurodiversity Hive. The officer also supports accessibility-focused initiatives and plays a key role in designing, implementing, and evaluating digital accessibility projects that enhance the learning experience of CDU students. These projects may involve auditing and improving the accessibility of online learning materials, collaborating with academic and technical staff to promote inclusive digital pedagogy, developing student-led accessibility resources, piloting new digital tools to support diverse learning needs, and researching emerging assistive technologies and best practices in digital accessibility within the higher education sector.

About You
To be successful, you will require:

* A degree with subsequent relevant experience in education, IT, disability support or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.
* Demonstrated experience in providing AT support or training within a student-focused or disability support context.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deliver clear, engaging training and support to diverse student cohorts.
* Demonstrated organisational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
* A strong commitment to inclusive education and the ability to work effectively with students from a wide range of backgrounds and learning needs.
* Experience producing accessible digital communications or resources.
* High level of digital literacy and familiarity with AT tools and platforms commonly used in education.

Additional Key Selection Criteria at Level 6

* Strong understanding of digital accessibility standards such as WCAG and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) alongside knowledge of how to effectively implement these standards within a university context.
* Experience working with student platforms or communication tools.
* Significant experience working in a tertiary education setting or directly with students with

Remuneration
Appointment to this role will be at Professional Employee Level 5 - 6. The base salary will be in the range of $73,502 - $92,329 per annum. The total remuneration package will be in the range of $85,997 - $108,024 per annum, including 17% superannuation.
