Mildura Base Public Hospital is offering a unique opportunity to join our dynamic team as a Staff Specialist Emergency Physician. Our Emergency Department triages more than 33,000 emergency attendees each year. The ED is open 24 hours per day, 365 days per year and is staffed by a dedicated multi-disciplined team of professionals including Emergency Medicine Specialist Doctors, Critical Care trained Nurses, technical and clerical staff. We are dedicated to providing Emergency care to the region across all ages.
The Role
Working in a highly collaborative and supportive team environment, the Staff Specialist Emergency Physician will provide exceptional emergency care within a multi-disciplinary team of medical officers and nursing staff to patients of the hospital. Key responsibilities of the role include providing specialist-level emergency service care, fostering relationships with colleagues and other hospital specialists, providing clinical leadership, supervision and teaching of junior medical staff, and participating actively in audits, clinical meetings and safety activities.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Provide specialist-level emergency service care to presenting emergency department patients.
Develop and foster relationships with hospital departments and specialist colleagues to ensure safe transfer and care of the patient.
Contribute to policy and procedure review and development for the department as required.
Promote and maintain patient-centred care and a sense of pride and purpose in the service.
Participate in peer review and other continuing medical education activities consistent with College and AHPRA requirements to maintain professional standards.
