Medical Officer Role
Job Summary
The position of Medical Officer is a challenging and rewarding role that involves delivering primary medical care to patients in accordance with professional standards, legislation, and Defence Policies and Procedures.
This role requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing Defence personnel for fitness for duty, providing medical technical advice to senior officers, and contributing to the development of health policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver high-quality primary medical care to patients, taking into account their individual needs and circumstances.
* Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to achieve shared goals and outcomes.
* Assess Defence personnel for fitness for duty, using appropriate assessment tools and techniques.
* Provide medical technical advice to senior officers, drawing on your knowledge and expertise.
Requirements:
* CURRENT UNCONDITIONAL AND UNRESTRICTED REGISTRATION AS A MEDICAL PRACTITIONER, GENERAL IN AUSTRALIA.
* Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) or Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) or Vocational Registration.
* Minimum of 2 years full-time post graduate general practitioner experience in a general practice setting within the last 5 years.
* Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities.
* Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.
