Position Details
Groundsperson
Holy Rosary School, a prestigious Catholic double‐stream school located in Perth's beautiful western suburbs, offers an expansive leafy campus with stunning views of Perth city and close proximity to the beach, and a vibrant community. Work hours: 6:30 am – 10:30 am each day. Flexible hours can be negotiated on school holidays.
Start date: 20th April 2026 or earlier by mutual agreement.
Duties
* Blower vacuums all paths every day and removes leaf litter (majority of role).
* Routine garden maintenance: trim hedges, weed garden beds, water plants and maintain outdoor play areas (note a contractor mows lawns and trims most hedges and checks reticulation).
* Ensure grounds are kept to a high standard, pick up rubbish, remove cobwebs, reinstall pavement, and perform general repairs.
* Maintenance: repair locks, patch plaster, paint, and perform basic plumbing repairs.
* In consultation with the Principal, prepare regular status reports on facility operations and project progress for senior management.
* Work Health and Safety compliance: monitor and report hazards, conduct basic risk assessments, and ensure the safe use/storage of tools and chemicals.
* Security and safety checks: open/lock buildings and gates; perform routine inspection of grounds and buildings to ensure safety.
* Maintain tools and equipment in good working order and report faults when necessary.
* Assist with deliveries and waste management.
* Assist in scheduling and supervising contractors or tradespeople on site as required.
* Move and assemble office furniture.
* Collect mail/running errands as required.
* Assist with event set up.
Selection Criteria
* Strong organisation and time‐management skills.
* Knowledge and experience with maintenance work such as plumbing and basic irrigation repair.
* Knowledge and/or experience with gardening requirements.
* Teamwork and great communication.
* Excellent organisational skills.
* Reliable, flexible, and punctual approach to your work.
* Current driver's licence full C class essential.
* National Police Clearance.
* Ability to perform physical requirements of the role.
* Value safety as a priority in the workplace.
