About the Role

We are seeking resilient, experienced, passionate and enthusiastic Disability/Mental Health Support Carers with a passion for helping people in the regional areas.
You will need previous experience supporting people with Intellectual and Mental Health Disability as well as complex support needs.
At ISA, we call you Support Mentors as you mentor and work with your clients. The ideal mentor will be friendly, fun and engaging to build a therapeutic relationship to successfully assist our clients with a range of disability-related supports.
Key Responsibilities
* Follow a person-centred support plan to ensure client safety and wellbeing are at the centre of everything you do
* Provide support and assistance with daily living tasks which include prompting/medication administration
* Maintain a high level of progress in note-taking and record-keeping
* Maintain a high level of integrity and regard for professional boundaries, confidentiality and dignity in the delivery of support
* Build and maintain positive relationships with the client and their wider support networks.
Skills & Experience
* Previous experience supporting and working with people with complex intellectual disabilities and behaviours
* Experience in working in regional and remote locations
* Culturally competent in supporting people who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
* Ability to think on your feet
Requirements
* You are located in Kununurra or willing to relocate
* Australian Driver's Licence
* A minimum of certificate III in Disability / Community Services or relevant industry and/ or lived experience
* Current First Aid Certificate (Including CPR)
* Successful candidates will be required to clear all relevant probity clearances, which include a Working With Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check
