About the role
Orica is seeking a seasoned IT Portfolio Delivery Manager to lead the execution of our global IT projects portfolio—ensuring every initiative delivers strategic value and measurable business impact.
In this pivotal leadership role, you will shape and drive Orica's IT delivery strategy, managing a team of project managers and analysts. You'll oversee delivery governance, champion methodology adoption, and collaborate closely with senior stakeholders to ensure the successful, on‐time, and on‐budget delivery of high‐value initiatives.
This role is based in our Melbourne office and operates under a hybrid working arrangement, offering flexibility while maintaining strong collaboration with local and global teams.

What you will be doing
* Portfolio Leadership
o Define and drive the delivery strategy for Orica's global IT projects portfolio
o Allocate and manage project management capacity across a dynamic pipeline
o Ensure alignment with business priorities, value drivers, and strategic outcomes
* Governance & Methodology
o Implement and chair robust governance forums and steering committees
o Promote consistent adoption of project management frameworks (Waterfall, Agile/Scrum, Hybrid)
o Ensure adherence to Orica's PMO standards and delivery excellence
* Team Leadership
o Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of project managers and analysts
o Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
o Set performance objectives and support professional growth
* Stakeholder Engagement
o Act as the primary liaison for project sponsors and senior business leaders
o Provide transparent updates through dashboards, reports, and forums
o Build strong relationships through proactive communication and alignment
What you will bring
* 10+ years of experience in IT project and portfolio delivery
* Proven success in leading complex, high-impact technology projects
* Experience in PMO or program management leadership roles
* PMP or PRINCE2 Practitioner certification (strongly preferred)
* Strong understanding of IT domains (applications, infrastructure, security, data)
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Proficiency in risk management and modern IT systems
