The Role
Coastal Lakes College (CLC) is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Workplace Learning and Vocational Education and Training Support Officer (WLSO) to become an integral and valued member of the Directions team.
In collaboration with the Manager of Directions (MoD), the successful applicant will provide administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the Directions Support Office. This will ideally include supporting the MoD with establishing and operating the college's Workplace Learning and VET (Vocational Education and Training) program, including developing and maintaining program documentation, support material and procedures manual. The WLSO will be required to consider students' skills and abilities to identify pathways for employment or activities other than employment, in collaboration with the MoD.
In conjunction with the MoD, the WLSO will ideally also source VET programs and tailor individual programs to suit student needs, General and Growth/Vocational Directions (Integrated Learning and Inclusive Education) pathways This will ideally involve sourcing appropriate industry placements for students and conducting site checks and meetings with prospective employers. In alignment with this, the WLSO will ideally assist in the training and induction of students into the Workplace Learning Program (WLP), induction and training of workplace supervisors and fostering networks for workplace teachers and assessors.
As part of the WLP, the WLSO will ideally monitor student work placement progress, including visiting workplace sites and monitoring student logbooks for satisfactory completion and working hours. This will ideally also entail evaluating enrolment and completion data and providing reports to the School Administration team. The WLSO will ideally undertake administrative requirements, maintain the Workplace Learning Program database and prepare correspondence for all external registered training courses. They will Ideally promote the Department's ethos and purpose and respond to inquiries from community members and parents concerning its curriculum policies and operations
The successful applicant will ideally possess strong organisation and communication skills, and the ability to work unsupervised as well as part of a team in a fast paced environment. You will ideally also assist the MoD with the placement of Workplace Learning students and managing the relevant data associated with placements and recording attendance. Flexibility, motivation and experience in providing administrative support would be highly advantageous to this role.

* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of workplace learning outcomes and contexts with the ability to induct employers, staff and students on workplace learning procedures.
* Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, evaluating and reporting on suitable programs for students in acquiring work skills and/or accessing recreational activities.
* Demonstrated well developed keyboarding and computer skills, including a working knowledge of databases, spreadsheets and word processing.
* Demonstrated sound written, oral and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, students, employers and parents.
* Demonstrated initiative and sound organisational skills, including the ability to plan and coordinate activities.
