Electrical Engineer I Role Overview
Gilmour Space is seeking a talented individual to join our innovative team to send rockets to Space. As an Electrical Engineer I, you will contribute to delivering Electrical products and services.
* Deliver Electrical products and services as part of a team of Electrical Engineers.
* Participate in development of engineering processes, including requirements definition, design, review, procurement, manufacture, assembly, integration, and verification/validation.
* Develop Electrical engineering designs, processes, and activities for Ground Support Equipment (GSE) including launch fluid systems, test stands, and supporting infrastructure.
* Undertake accountability as a Responsible Engineer for Electrical units.
* Develop written procedures and checklists for performing test & commissioning operations, and support test teams as required.
* Support investigations, troubleshooting, modifications, and fixes/repairs.
* Support launch preparations and launch operations as needed.
* Engage with external suppliers, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
* Ensure that engineering activities are conducted and documented in accordance with Gilmour Space policies, plans, and procedures.
* Other duties as requested by Management.
Mandatory Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
* Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and/or Electronics Engineering or relevant qualification.
* Ability to operate in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
* Demonstrated resilience in high-stress situations.
Desired Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
* Familiarity with Systems Engineering practices.
* Familiarity developing electrical control panels (motor control centers, distribution boards, marshalling panels, etc.).
* Familiarity manufacturing electrical equipment (batteries, solar panels, inverters, motors, etc.).
* Familiarity developing Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) screens.
* Familiarity developing Programmable Logic Controller projects using standard industrial equipment.
* Familiarity with industrial safety-critical/real-time control applications.
* Familiarity of pressure, temperature, and flow measurement instrumentation.
* Familiarity developing and manufacturing harnesses.
* Familiarity constructing and commissioning Electrical control panels.
* Familiarity with space engineering standards (GSFC-STD-7000A, SMC-S-016, RCC 319, DO-254, DO-178).
* Familiarity with both waterfall and agile project management frameworks.
* Demonstrated engineering experience within the industrial engineering environment.
* Ability to work in a high-paced, challenging work environment.
* Ability to work efficiently in a team environment with a desire and willingness to assist other team members in the general day-to-day running of the department.
