They are seeking an experienced Payroll Lead to join their supportive and high performing team. This is a hands‐on, visible leadership role, well suited to someone who thrives in complex payroll environments and can lead decisively and pragmatically during periods of transformation.

* Hybrid working: 2 days in office and 3 days from home
* $130,000 + super + benefits

Responsibilities
* Ensure compliance, governance & audit readiness
* Manage end‐to‐end payroll processes
* Oversee managed service provider
* Manage pay & time systems and data
* Act as escalation point for complex issue resolution
* Driving continuous improvement and system optimisation
* Implement effective risk management strategies & controls monitoring
* Mentoring and developing payroll team members
* Support the team as back‐up during absences

Candidate Profile
* Significant experience leading small Payroll teams in a complex, award/EBA driven environment
* Strong team leadership, coaching, and development skills
* Experience building relationships across the business
* Knowledge of Australian payroll legislation – New Zealand knowledge a bonus
* Experience managing Pay & Time systems and data
* Proven experience delivering and driving for results
* High attention to detail and analytical capability
* A collaborative and strategic mindset
* Exposure to working with a managed service provider advantageous
