MINE CONTROL OPERATOR (12 month Fixed Term)
We are recruiting for a fixed term role as a Mine Control Operator. The primary purpose of this position is to operate, control, monitor and report on plant and equipment associated with the Underground Mining production and support systems.
Reporting to the Mine Control Supervisor, your duties will include:
* Collecting and validating operational data received via radio calls or automated systems;
* Ensuring all reports are issued with valid data in a timely manner;
* Acting as First Response to emergency radio calls for actual emergency events and training exercises;
* Providing a high standard of communication with all underground personnel;
* Remotely operate and monitor fixed plant equipment and mine services under direction from the Maintenance team and Operations management;
* Work with the underground shift supervisors to monitor activities against shift plan and notify key personnel of variations.
The successful candidate should possess the following:
* Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, communication and organisational skills with attention to detail;
* The ability to multitask while remaining calm in a fast paced environment
* The ability to work by yourself as well as with a diverse range of people
* A high level of computer literacy with competency in the Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook and Word);
* Demonstrated problem solving skills and logical aptitude and be confident raising and addressing issues;
* A willingness to give your best effort every time to help improve the mining operation;
* Previous experience using Pitram software will be advantageous.
The roster for this residential position will be 7 days on 7 days off, Day/Night Shift working 12 hour shifts.
