Murray Irrigation Limited (MIL) is searching for a detail oriented and pro-active Finance Officer to join our organisation and play a key role in managing day-to-day financial operations.

MIL is the largest private irrigation water delivery company in Australia, formed as an unlisted public company in March **** when the NSW Government privatised its Murray Irrigation area and districts. The company's irrigators are also shareholders and include 2,100 landholdings across 724,000 hectares in the Southern Riverina.
MIL is located in southern NSW and uses approximately 2,755km of gravity-fed earthen channels to deliver a five-year average of 728GL to their landholders, through efficient management of their NSW Murray Regulated River Water Access Licences (WALs). Head office is in Deniliquin with branch offices in Finley and Wakool. Farm businesses in the area predominately include rice, cereals, wheat, canola, annual pasture, dairy, wool, beef and lamb, with an average gross value agriculture production of $500 million.

The Role
This role will support the Finance team with a range of tasks including accounts payable, accounts receivable, checking and posting of invoices, processing supplier EFT payment runs, internal credit card reviewing and processing, bank reconciliations and actioning queries via the internal Customer Information recording action system.
Skills & Experience
Qualification in accounting/bookkeeping or relevant experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
High attention to detail and data entry accuracy
Good organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
Understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
Experience with accounting software (Pronto and Workday Financial System preferred)
Knowledge of the agricultural or irrigation sector
Recent graduates with a basic understanding of financial principles and a willingness to learn are invited to apply.
