Are you a passionate Speech Pathologist looking to make a meaningful difference? This full time role offers the opportunity to work with children, young people, and adults with diverse and complex communication needs, supporting them to build independence, confidence, and essential speech and communication skills. As a Speech Pathologist in this NDIS‑funded role, you will work as an Advanced Support Worker delivering specialised, participant-focused services. Your work will empower participants, promoting their choices, rights, and participation in all aspects of their therapy and daily life.
Responsibilities
* Conduct speech, language and swallowing screenings and comprehensive assessments
* Diagnose, treat and support speech, language and communication disorders
* Develop and implement individualised, evidence‑based therapy and treatment plans
* Deliver Speech Pathology services to children, young people and adults with complex needs
* Review participant plans and relevant documentation prior to service delivery
* Maintain accurate, timely and confidential clinical records and progress notes
* Monitor participant progress and report outcomes to relevant stakeholders
* Identify barriers to physical, emotional, cognitive and social development
* Adapt supports in response to changing participant needs and circumstances
* Educate participants and families about communication disorders and strategies
* Build respectful, trusting relationships with participants and their support networks
* Communicate clearly, inclusively and in a way that suits individual abilities and preferences
* Prioritise the participant's voice, especially during decision‑making or conflict
* Work collaboratively with families, carers, educators, clinicians and other team members
* Promote participant independence, confidence and goal achievement
* Seek and respond to participant feedback, including concerns and complaints
* Identify and report risks, work health and safety issues and resource needs
* Respond appropriately to signs of distress, anxiety or changes in health and wellbeing
* Report any concerns relating to abuse, neglect, exploitation, violence or discrimination
* Follow all organisational policies, procedures and NDIS legislative requirements
* Contribute to service reviews, quality improvement and reflective practice
Skills
* Experience delivering Speech Pathology services across the lifespan
* Ability to manage a caseload effectively and meet reporting requirements
* Strong verbal, written and coaching communication skills
* Excellent time management and organisational abilities
* Confidence working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Knowledge of NDIS principles, participant rights and quality standards
* Ability to use clinical systems and data to track progress and outcomes
* A reflective, resilient approach with strategies to manage work‑related stress
Qualifications and Requirements
* Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology) or equivalent
* Registration with Speech Pathology Australia and current CPSP status
* Ability to obtain a Medicare Provider Number
* Current driver's licence, worker screening and First Aid/CPR certification
* Completion of the NDIS New Worker Induction Module
