Financial Strategy and Compliance Specialist
We are seeking a Financial Strategy and Compliance Specialist to join our team at the Ministry of Health.
As a Financial Strategy and Compliance Specialist, you will play a key role in shaping financial strategy and ensuring compliance across NSW Health. You will provide advice to senior management on compliance with financial controls, reporting requirements and support effective decision making by analysing and reporting on complex financial information.
You will also assist with the preparation of monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts, and liaise with other finance branches on processes that impact the general ledger. Additionally, you will provide analytical support services to respond to client requests and support business case development and decision making.
Your expertise in financial reporting and control for a complex organization will be highly valued as you collaborate and consult with key stakeholders to guide them in financial reporting, and other statutory reporting.
* Provide strategic financial advice to senior management;
* Assist with the preparation of monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts;
* Support the Principal finance Analyst in coordinating and facilitating the process for the preparation and review of the annual financial statements;
* Liaise with other finance branches on processes that impact the general ledger;
Key qualities for this role include strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a high-performing team environment. If you have a CPA/CA qualification, knowledge of Public Sector Finance and Audit Act and Australian accounting standards, and experience in financial reporting and control for a complex organization, we encourage you to apply.
