Offer description

Through effective public, media and communications activities, contribute to the nation's economic conversation while enhancing and building on the community's understanding of the RBA and that support monetary policy decisions. This role will report to the CCO (Chief Communications Officer) and is pivotal in delivering on the RBA Review, the RBA corporate plan, and the strategic priorities of the Communications Department.

Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Media and Communication: Devise and implement a dynamic media and communications strategy that supports the RBA's strategic priorities.- Community engagement: Actively expand the RBAs reach and impact to enhance the communities' understanding of the RBA and its work.- Amplify RBA voice: Collaborate with policy teams and shape messages, content and publications that support monetary policy decisions.- Media Strategy Coordination: In collaboration with the CCO, craft and coordinate external engagement strategies for the Governor, Deputy Governor and members of the RBA's senior leadership, ensuring alignment with the RBAs priorities.- Media Coaching: Provide media coaching and advice to RBA executives on effective media engagement and presentation techniques.- Parliamentary Support: Assist the Secretary's Department with the preparation of materials for parliamentary and public appearances, with a focus on Q&As and briefing notes.- Performance Oversight: Oversee and contribute to the RBA's performance and corporate plan through areas of direct responsibility and cross-department collaboration and support.- Departmental Leadership: Play a key role in the Communications Department's leadership team, contributing to strategic decisions and initiatives.- Team Management: Lead a high
- performing media team to deliver high-quality content that resonates with external audiences.- Drive Culture: Foster an environment that encourages open and dynamic communication, feedback, and transparency within the organisation.- Continuous Improvement: Support enhancements to strategies, systems, and communication processes.- Risk Management: Manage issues and risks effectively, safeguarding the reputation of the RBA and its senior staff within the RBA's risk appetite.

Capabilities & Experience:
- A minimum of 10 years' experience working in media working closely with executive leadership.- Exceptional written communication and an extensive network of media contacts.- A proven track record of fostering relationships with journalists and editors.- Adept at navigating and resolving communication crises with skill and strategic acumen.- Comprehensive understanding of RBA-wide policies and the ability to oversee compliance and successfully influence across various departments.- Leadership experience in guiding multidisciplinary teams towards successful outcomes.
