FIFO Chef jobs available for qualified staff with remote site experience
Your new company -
At Hays Specialist Recruitment, we play a major role in supporting remote camp sites in South Australia. Our clients have developed service solutions for remote sites to meet their clients' needs for comfort, safety and well-being at each stage of their projects.
Your new role -
We are currently looking for qualified Chefs that have FIFO remote mine site experience for ongoing opportunities in South Australia. All swings are offered on a casual basis and, due to the differing operational requirements of each of our clients, there will be a mixture of swings for 1 and 2 week periods.
Due to the needs of our clients, we will only be able to consider chefs with relevant FIFO experience and competency to cope in these demanding roles that require experience in bulk catering.
These roles will require chefs who are flexible to work across all different sections within a large-scale commercial kitchen, such as breakfast prep, cold larder, main meal preparation, grill/fry section. These roles are strictly suited to Qualified Chefs only, holding a Certificate III or above with remote site experience. We are especially keen to hear from chefs that have experience of working in smaller remote camps where they are used to being the only chef in the kitchen, so have the ability to run all aspects of service throughout the shift.
All flights will depart from Adelaide Airport, so we will only consider applicants who are based in South Australia and within a reasonable distance from Adelaide Airport.
What you'll need to succeed
* A completed Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (OR International Equivalent) is ESSENTIAL.
* Relevant remote site experience is ESSENTIAL for the role.
* You will be required to get a full Police Clearance and provide 2 contactable work references.
* A current Australian Driving Licence is preferred (or EU equivalent).
* You must be flexible and be willing to work across all shift patterns, including day and night shifts.
All candidates will be expected to undertake and pass an extensive pre-employment medical and instant drug and alcohol test. Successful candidates MUST be based in South Australia as all FIFO opportunities leave from Adelaide airport.
What you'll get in return -
We offer excellent pay and conditions in remote mining camp villages that we service, with the sites having access to gym equipment and other recreational facilities that are available for all residents to use. All flights, accommodation and food are provided whilst you are on site and accommodation consists of your own room with personal facilities.
