Job Description
Our Sunshine Coast Office is seeking a Construction Lead to join our high-performing Urban Development team, in what is a truly excellent opportunity!
This role focuses on creating and executing construction plans to meet engineering standards - ensuring safety, timing, and budget targets. Responsibilities include leading the Construction Team, supervising Construction activities, collaborating with broader stakeholders to meet client needs and steering business development initiatives.
Further scope encompasses
* Demonstrating and providing leadership in health, safety, environmental, quality, sustainability, stakeholder engagement, industrial relations, and capability development.
* Managing and monitoring workforce and subcontractor performance to ensure compliance with technical, program, quality, environmental, safety, and commercial requirements.
* Planning, managing, and implementing site establishment activities to meet specific location, fencing, signage, environmental, and traffic conditions as per contract requirements.
* Identifying, formulating, and controlling project costs to ensure proper funding and adherence to approved budgets.
* Identifying, analyzing, and mitigating potential risk events (initiating corrective action when necessary).
* Managing changes to scope, deliverables, schedule, and budget throughout the project lifecycle.
* Preparing technical and financial reports on construction progress, including cost and time forecasting (whilst maintaining schedule and budget)
* Managing emergency response and crisis management/public relations matters on-site.
* Interpreting specifications to plan and executing construction procedures, staffing requirements, and timelines for each phase.
* Directing supervisory personnel and subcontractors to prevent delays and ensure compliance with specifications.
* Managing personnel, inspectors, and suppliers to resolve construction problems and improve methods.
* Inspecting work to ensure compliance with specifications, schedules and environmental regulations.
* Preparing and reviewing progress reports, and adjusting work schedules as needed.
* Exercising contract requirements and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
* Leading business development initiatives to identify and capitalize on new construction opportunities, fostering growth and expansion for Egis ANZ.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will have
* 7+ years of related experience in construction management.
* Relevant tertiary qualifications including Bachelor of Engineering, Construction Management or Project Management or equivalent degree.
* Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety or Experience with Safety Regulations, Employee Relations and general management concepts.
* Senior First Aid Certificate (current)
* Valid driver’s license and Construction Induction Card (White Card).
* Demonstrated implementation of Australian quality standards
Whilst RPEQ isn't essential, is considered advantageous
