Overview
Join the Mental Health Inpatient Unit at Broken Hill Hospital as a Registered Nurse in a permanent full-time role. The Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme may provide an incentive up to $10,000 (conditions apply; pro-rata may apply to contracted hours).
Responsibilities
- Provide our mental health inpatients with individualised, evidence-based, 24-hour care within a multidisciplinary team.
- Develop skills and progress your career across a wide range of specialties in a smaller, rural hospital.
- Contribute to delivering a high-quality patient experience and meaningful mental health outcomes for the local community.
Qualifications
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Demonstrated experience working with mental health consumers, including those with co-morbidities; inpatient experience preferred with ability to interpret and apply the Mental Health Act 2007.
- Demonstrated application of evidence-based practice for individualised patient care within a multidisciplinary team; commitment to person-centred care and reduction of seclusion/restraint; recovery model of care.
- Commitment to working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients, families, and employees to improve health outcomes.
- Evidence of continuing professional development and willingness to share expertise with colleagues.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and intermediate computer skills.
