About the Role
McCann Worldgroup has an exciting opportunity to work on one of our top global accounts, Microsoft, as the Functional Team Lead – Events. This role oversees and manages the Area Events team.
What is this role and how does it positively impact the business?
As Functional Team Lead – Events, this role has day to day responsibility for the Events team which operationalises both in‑person and virtual events throughout the year. The Events team plays a major role in ensuring the success of these events and driving continual improvement and measurement of future events.
Team Management
Oversee the events team which includes both in‑person and virtual event coordinators. This includes onboarding team members as well as continued development and training of this team. This role ensures that the team is briefed on all area and global initiatives.
Stakeholder Engagement
Engage with functional stakeholders to set expectations on service delivery. Provide consultative support and recommendations, collaborating with Area leads and HQ.
Global Community Engagement
Share best practices with Area Team Lead and Functional leads across the region and participate in community calls.
Best Practice Sharing
Curate and showcase Area findings and practices and share these with the global community.
Key Skills
- Demonstrated understanding of event marketing and the tools and platforms that support it.
- Proven skills in written and verbal communications.
- Intermediate to advanced project management strategies and tools.
- Basic business, systems, and process analysis.
- Ability to articulate and evangelise services with stakeholders.
- Relationship management, collaboration and conflict resolution skills.

Required Experience
- University degree.
- 4+ years solid marketing communications (agency or client side), business operations or business consulting experience.
