Anglo American Australia operates steelmaking coal mines in Queensland's Bowen Basin. This position reports to the General Manager and is a key senior leadership role within our Capcoal operation.
Responsibilities
* Provide strategic commercial leadership, influencing operational and financial outcomes across the site.
* Partner with operations to optimise performance, cost discipline and value delivery aligned to production strategy.
* Own the site's financial performance, ensuring robust governance, accurate reporting and full compliance.
* Lead planning, budgeting and forecasting cycles, delivering clear, forward‐looking insights to support decision‐making.
* Drive data‐led performance analysis, identifying risks, opportunities and actionable improvements.
* Lead capital governance and prioritisation, ensuring disciplined investment decisions across the lifecycle.
* Embed a culture of continuous improvement and commercial thinking across site leadership.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with Joint Venture partners and key external stakeholders.
* Lead, coach and uplift capability within a high‐performing finance team.
Qualifications
* Degree in Business, Accounting or Economics (CA/CPA highly regarded).
* Proven financial leadership experience in capital‐intensive environments, with deep understanding of cost and value drivers, operational performance and site constraints.
* Proven capability in financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis, and the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights that influence senior operational leaders.
* Strong knowledge of accounting standards, governance and internal controls.
* Ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders, including operational leaders, JV partners and external partners.
* Experience leading teams and building capability in a high‐performance culture.
* Advanced capability in financial governance, internal controls and IFRS compliance across Capex and Opex environments.

Permanent full‐time role, based at Capcoal Mine, Middlemount. Monday to Friday roster with flexible work options (FIFO, DIDO or residential).
