About Mayday
We're an accounting-tech startup building automation to save finance teams from the pain of manual work. We are hyper-ambitious with a huge long-term vision to mend month-end and enable real-time accounting. We have team members in the UK, Australia and South Africa. Australia is our biggest market. We're founded by two experienced entrepreneurs: David Tuck, an accountant and CFO by training, who founded Chaser; and James Griffin, a software engineer who was CTO at Idio (now Optimizely) and Rungway. What We're Looking For
You will report directly to Jack, our APAC Commercial Lead, and work closely with our Sales Lead, as well as our global commercial and marketing teams. This role is perfect for someone ready to accelerate their career at Mayday's pivotal moment – large enough for momentum, small enough for your impact to be visible and career-defining.
Responsibilities
Deliver demos and sales meetings (predominantly via video call) with APAC-based prospects, including in-house finance teams and accounting firms, converting them to paying customers.
Lead the development and rollout of more formal customer success processes, ensuring we can scale while keeping customers delighted.
Be a true product expert – advise on complex setups, troubleshoot challenges, confidently answer support queries, and contribute to our library of help and training materials.
Manage relationships with APAC trialists and customers to ensure smooth onboarding, adoption, and ongoing value from Mayday.
Support partnerships and marketing initiatives.
Act as our eyes and ears in-market, sharing customer insights to help guide product, support, and marketing decisions.
Qualifications
First-hand experience of the problems we solve; likely have worked as an accountant or finance person.
Fluency in debits and credits; excitement about sales and speaking with customers to uncover needs.
Curious, fast learner, and product-savvy – become a true product expert.
Ownership mindset – you can do things without perfect instructions, identify what needs doing, and execute well.
Highly organised, able to juggle many moving parts.
Relationship builder; based in Sydney or Melbourne.
