**Your new role**:
Reporting to the Obsolescence Manager, Maritime Sustainment, you will be responsible for the on-going obsolescence investigations and reporting key supply chain issues including auctioning supply obsolescence notification whilst working with the supply chain team to procure end life stock to achieve the supply chain objectives.
This role is required to analyse complex data and business scenarios, propose solutions and recommendations and support decision makers in determining the appropriate course of action.
More specifically, you will
- Investigate obsolete/obsolescent part numbers to assist with ongoing support for DDG platforms
- Support the management and execution of enterprise category strategies ensuring category objectives are met
- Manage procurement engagement activities including, but not limited to expressions of interest, requests for information, requests for quotation, requests for proposal, requests for tender, supplier negotiations and contract development and execution
- Manage the approval, maintenance and close out of purchase orders, ensuring timely payments and delivery
- Manage supplier negotiations and finalise supplier agreements and purchase orders in accordance with set procedures and Delegations Of Authority (DOA)
- Analyse suppliers data to assist with all facets of supply chain services, including reviews of alternate items to alleviate obsolescence issues and assist with loading new material into the defence inventory management systems
About you
**As an ideal applicant for this chance, you'll have**:
- Demonstrated relevant experience in an analyst position within supply chain systems or similar environment
- Strong stakeholder management skill, results orientated, focusing on the key objectives and striving for effective outcomes
- An ability to show initiative, prioritise and meet deadlines with strong influencing skill
- An ability to analyse complex date and propose appropriate business solution and propose appropriate business solutions
- Proficient user of Ms Office package and Oracle system is preferred
Whilst, not essential, degree in logistics or supply chain or related discipline is preferred
Clearances
As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.
International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
