About the role
Synergex Project Services Pty Ltd. is seeking a skilled and experienced Civil Estimator to join our team in Townsville, Queensland. As a full-time role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for a variety of civil construction projects.
What you'll be doing
* Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil construction projects, including materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs
* Analyse technical drawings, specifications, and project requirements to identify and quantify all necessary cost components
* Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure cost estimates align with project objectives and constraints
* Provide expert advice and recommendations to management on pricing strategies and cost-saving opportunities
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and best practices in civil construction estimating
* Assist with the preparation of bid proposals and tender submissions
* Participate in project planning and feasibility studies
What we're looking for
* Minimum 5 years of experience as a Civil Estimator or in a similar role within the construction industry
* Experience with earthworks, roads/highways, utilities/infrastructure, and bridges/structures estimating is essential
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and other project documentation
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex cost-related issues
* Strong attention to detail and a proven track record of producing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates
* Familiarity with construction cost estimating software, such as Buildsoft or MC2
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
* Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline is highly desirable
* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline is mandatory
* Australian citizenship is required for this position
