**RISK AND COMPLIANCE ADVISOR**
BDS Mechanical currently have a position available for an experienced Risk and Compliance Advisor to join our management team in Queensland. The position is to support and advise both our Senior Management team and Branch Managers / Supervisors, develop, implement and maintain HSEQ procedures and processes on site, provide guidance and training to branch staff to ensure continuing compliance with HSEQ and internal procedure requirements. This role can be based at one of our 22 workshops throughout Queensland, however, frequent travel will be required to perform your duties.

BDS Mechanical Repairs is a privately owned growing business that offers mechanical, auto electrical and welding repairs both in house and onsite with 22 fixed workshop locations throughout Queensland. We have over 150 field service units and the team at BDS cover over 600,000 km2 of Queensland, meaning we're never too far away.
**Duties and Responsibilities Include but are not limited to**:
- Be actively involved with the development, implementation and maintenance of company HSEQ Management Plans, Risk Assessments, HSEQ Procedures and Forms through consultation with the Senior Management team and Branch Managers.
- Work in conjunction with the Senior Management Team and to ensure the site HSEQ requirements are established, implemented, and maintained in accordance with WHS Statutory requirements and where applicable, client requirements.
- Ensure that all employees, management, contractors and visitors are aware of their obligations, policies and procedures relating to Health & Safety.
- Formulate safe methods of work in consultation with Branch Managers and workforce personnel as required.
- Conduct HSEQ inspections and be actively involved with HSEQ audits.
- Assist in close out of corrective actions as identified through internal / external audits, inspections, risk assessment, incidents etc.
- Actively promote methods to identify, eliminate or control hazards in the workplace.
- Maintain accurate HSEQ statistics and develop periodic HSEQ reports
- Conduct pre-start/toolbox meeting training and awareness material as required.
- Assist in the creation and implementation of site-specific safe working practices.
- Support and drive management goals to meet Health, Safety and Environmental KPIs and performance objectives.
- Be Responsible for emergency procedures, fire safety arrangements & policies relating to the workshops
- Ensure workplace incidents and injuries are fully investigated and provide recommendations to prevent recurrence.
- Perform other duties within the organization that may be necessary to suit operational requirements.
- Maintain detailed and accurate record keeping of all training, inductions and assessments conducted, along with any other relevant documents where required.
- Continually monitor and manage training requirements of all operators to
ensure skills requirements are met.
- Take responsibility for your own safety, uphold the Company HSEQ policies and develop / participate in Company HSEQ initiatives.
**Qualifications**
- Cert IV WHS (Minimum).
- Diploma Work Health and Safety (highly regarded).
- At least 3 years' experience in a similar role.
- 4+ years experience in a HSE related role
- Cert IV Training & Assessment (highly regarded).
- Minimum "C" class driver license
