About The Role
As the NAPA Speech Therapy Team Leader/Team Manager, you will provide clinical leadership to our team of Speech and Language Pathologists. All Speech Pathologists at NAPA Centre complete skilled assessments and provide intervention to disabled infants, toddlers, children, and adolescents with disorders that affect development of motor, cognitive, and behavioural skills within the professional scope of practice.
Skills
This role requires working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide evidence-based interventions to patients with very complex communication and feeding needs. As the Leader, you will also play a vital role in the team's success by helping team members enhance their service delivery, clinical skills, and performance capabilities. Duties include:
* Assessing client conditions using standardised tools to determine optimal treatment plans based on your expertise.
* Creating tailored treatment plans considering client's age, abilities, and medical/physical factors.
* Demonstrating high standards of service delivery and clinical expertise for the team to emulate.
* Coaching and mentoring the Speech Therapy team to improve the quality of services.
* Conducting monthly 1:1 meetings to develop therapists' skills and guiding them towards external training opportunities.
* Participating in Leadership Meetings to ensure a unified team approach and sharing ideas and challenges.
* Contributing to the development of clinical practices and procedures.
* Overseeing post-training schedules, including training gap analysis and follow-up.
* Monitoring team development and responding to areas needing improvement.
About The Leader
* Minimum qualification: Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology) from an accredited university.
* Current registration/membership with SPA.
* Experience in managing complex caseloads, assessment, and treatment plan development, supervision of staff or volunteers (preferably in a paediatric environment).
* Strong clinical experience (minimum 3 years postgraduate).
* Ability to create a safe, professional, and supportive environment.
* Effective communication skills with clients and medical professionals.
* Professional empathy and rapport-building skills.
* Willingness to obtain WWCC and NDIS Worker Screening Check / blue card if not already held.
