Description About the Role The Graduate Certificate in Advanced Nursing (GCAN) is IHM’s flagship fully online program, designed to equip registered nurses with practical, industry-aligned advanced nursing skills for career advancement. As Course Coordinator, you will provide academic leadership for the GCAN program, leading a highly skilled academic and clinical teaching team to ensure seamless delivery across multiple online intakes. This includes oversight of innovative curriculum design, virtual clinical simulations, personalised student support, and rigorous compliance with TEQSA and related regulatory standards. Drawing on your proven experience coordinating large online student cohorts, you will ensure a consistent and high-quality student experience across global markets. You will use data-driven strategies to enhance student engagement, progression, and completion outcomes, supporting busy registered nurses balancing study with professional practice. Skills And Experiences Duties & Responsibilities Provide academic leadership for the GCAN program, ensuring quality, consistency, and compliance across online delivery Coordinate course delivery, assessment, marking, and moderation across multiple intakes Lead and support academic staff, clinical facilitators, and teaching teams Design, review, and enhance curriculum content, including virtual simulations and online learning resources Monitor student engagement, progression, retention, and completion, implementing improvement strategies Provide academic advice and personalised support to online students Ensure compliance with TEQSA, ESOS, the National Code 2018, and IHM policies Contribute to scholarship, research, and continuous course improvement Participate in academic governance, committees, and quality assurance processes Essential Criteria Master’s degree in Nursing or a closely related health discipline Current and unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse Demonstrated experience in higher education teaching and learning Proven experience coordinating courses or units, preferably in online or blended delivery Experience managing large and diverse student cohorts Strong digital literacy and competence with LMS platforms and online teaching tools Sound knowledge of the Higher Education Standards Framework and regulatory requirements Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills Desirable Criteria Doctoral qualification (PhD or Professional Doctorate) in Nursing, Health, or Education. Formal qualifications in higher education teaching and learning. Experience in course or unit coordination, assessment design, and moderation. Evidence of ongoing scholarship, research, or professional engagement. Experience supporting international and culturally diverse student cohorts.
