Victims of Crime NT (VoCNT) is inviting Expressions of Interest from skilled, values-driven individuals who are passionate about promoting justice, safety, healing and the wellbeing of people impacted by crime.
About us
We are the Territory’s only NGO specialist victim support and advocacy organisation. As accredited Sanctuary providers we provide person-centred services grounded in the Sanctuary trauma-informed Framework. As all levels we align with our commitments to non-violence, emotional intelligence, open communication, democracy, social learning, growth and change, social responsibility and Cultural Humility.
About the Role
We are seeking voluntary Board Members who can contribute to strong governance, strategic direction, and oversight of a growing organisation delivering services across the NT community.
Board Members play a key role in:
• The strategic oversight of VoCNT.
• Supporting the CEO with sound decision-making and constructive guidance.
• Upholding robust governance, risk management and compliance with national and Territory regulations.
• Ensure financial sustainability with review budgets, audits, and financial reports.
• Participate in sub-committee membership
• Championing the Organisation.
Board meetings are scheduled for the third Thursday of every month either in person at our Darwin office, or online via a Teams invitation. Additional time is occasionally required for sub-committees and strategic planning.
What We Are Looking For
VoCNT welcomes interest from people with diverse personal and professional backgrounds. Skills and experience in one or more of the following areas will be highly regarded:
• Finance, accounting, audit or risk management
• Social work, psychology, mental health or trauma-informed practice
• Human resources, governance or organisational development
• First Nations people’s rights, community engagement, and human rights
• Communications and media
• Fundraising strategy or not-for-profit leadership
