Technical Officer Prosthetics & Orthotics Grade 3 The Royal Melbourne Hospital One of the largest prosthetics departments in Victoria, specialising in amputee rehabilitation and providing orthotic services to Royal Park Campus inpatient wards. Work with clinical staff to fabricate a wide variety prosthetic and orthotic devices. 5 weeks annual leave with ADO's. Your New Role Collaborate with team members to provide patients with musculoskeletal and neuromuscular deficits with devices that will assist them to perform daily functions in their home, work and community settings. Help educate new staff in prosthesis/orthosis manufacture and workplace safety. Monitor production quality and investigate new materials & techniques for fabricating. Help create a safe and functional workplace environment. About You Extensive experience in the fabrication of a broad range of prosthetic/orthotics devices. Training in advanced lower limb prosthesis lamination techniques. Familiarity with fabrication of upper limb mechanical systems and myoelectric devices incorporating pattern recognition systems. Mastery of thermoplastic drape and blister forming techniques.
