At Rosebel Gold Mines N.V., we are currently seeking a dedicated General Foreman to join our Mill Mechanical Maintenance department. As a General Foreman**,** you will support in the implementation of the Mill Mechanical Maintenance strategies and cost controlling.
**Your key responsibilities will include**:
Manage Mill Mechanical Maintenance assigned resources within their section to achieve minimum plant downtime and maximum productivity.
- Ensure established objectives, targets, and standards are effectively communicated to mechanical personnel.
- Ensure maintenance work is carried out in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
- Comply with established methods and quality standards related to maintenance/ mechanical while at the same time recommending new or alternate approaches.
- Identify production inefficiencies and develop and implement necessary changes to improve and correct those inefficiencies.
- Coordinate with the maintenance planning team to ensure that planning activities are maintained to establish best work practices while providing maximum plant availability.
- Follow production goals and maintenance schedules, set priorities, and allocate resources; analyze maintenance/ mechanical functions and adjust crew size as demands change.
- Execute long-term maintenance and improvement plans for areas of control.
- Inspect the mill production area to detect and resolve maintenance/ mechanical issues.
- Monitors and analyzes maintenance task outcomes.
- Recommend and implement changes for continuous improvement.
Support the Mill Mechanical Superintendent in implementing maintenance strategies and controlling costs.
- Provide input into the development and implementation of maintenance policies and procedures.
- Control allocated budget. Use Implemented systems and procedures to direct, assess, and control mechanical activities to maximize plant availability and control costs.
- Monitor compliance with budget in the area of responsibility and develop action plans to correct variances over budget.
- Execute maintenance and asset optimization schedules.
- Assist in the development and implementation of budget.
Support and train the national workforce under their authority and national peers.
- Ensure personnel are adequately trained and equipped to perform all assigned duties, establishing a platform for succession planning.
- Guide Mechanical Trainers building in the Training Programs.
- Promote a thriving working environment in motivation, teamwork, autonomy, initiative, and creativity.
- Reinforce the set behavior model for the mechanical personnel and the significant impacts of their work activities, including the environment and the benefits of improved personal performance.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports.
- Mentor National Senior Mechanical Supervisors, Mechanical Supervisors, and Team Leaders to achieve the next level in their careers.
- Mentor national General Foremen to improve their performance in their current position.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related degree.
- Minimum 8 years of Maintenance Engineering experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience at a supervisory level.
- A sound mechanical background relating to milling including grinding, pumping, conveyance, and hydraulics. Strong understanding of grinding mills is an asset.
- A strong background in equipment repair and maintenance and mechanical systems.
- The ability to resolve technical issues without external support; comprehensive / creative trouble shooting.
- Computer literate in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Oracle, and various other maintenance software.
- Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and written in English.

- Ability to work with others in a team environment.
