At Churches of Christ, we are seeking a compassionate and skilled Support Practitioner to join our Children, Youth, and Families team in Ashmore & Daisy Hill. As a Support Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality support to children, young people, and families, ensuring their safety and well-being. What You'll Do: Facilitate intake, screening, and placement of children and young people with foster and kinship care families. Deliver assessments, crisis support, and therapeutic interventions; escalate concerns as needed. Develop and evaluate care plans tailored to individual needs. Deliver evidence-based parenting programs and collaborate with community partners to support families. Recruit, assess, and support foster and kinship carers, including facilitating approval processes. Lead case management planning and maintain accurate client records. Provide flexible, in-home support services, including after-hours and on-call duties. Work respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to ensure culturally safe and inclusive practices. What you can bring to the team: You are passionate about the welfare of children and achieving the absolute best outcomes for them. You will have the ability to easily establish and build rapport with people, in addition to being a naturally caring and positive individual. To be suitable for this position, your qualifications for the role will consist of: Relevant degree in social work, psychology, or related field - or equivalent experience. Strong understanding of child protection, out-of-home care, and relevant legislation. Skilled in care assessments and trauma-informed practice. Knowledge of challenges faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Current driver's licence, National Police Check, Working with Children (Blue Card) and Licensed Care Service (Child Protection).
