Senior Audit Manager, Models, AI and Data

Do work that matters:
You'll help shape how CommBank governs, develops, validates and monitors models and AI by providing independent assurance that supports innovation, regulatory confidence and long‐term sustainability.
This role provides independent assurance over the Bank's model risk framework and modelling practices across credit risk (APS 113), market risk (APS 116), interest rate risk in the banking book (APS 117), fraud detection and other decisioning models. You will also oversee AI and emerging model methodologies, including AI where relevant.

You'll be a senior leader within Group Audit & Assurance, part of an award‐recognised internal audit function. The Models, AI and Data Audit team partners closely with audit, risk and business leaders to provide deep expertise across AI, GenAI, Agentic AI, models and data risk. We operate at the intersection of risk, regulation, quantitative modelling and governance.
Your Impact:
* Lead complex, high‐risk AI and model audits and advisory engagements
* Provide independent assurance over model development, validation, implementation and ongoing performance monitoring
* Assess compliance with prudential standards including APS 113, APS 116, APS 117 and broader CPS 220 expectations
* Shape audit strategy and risk‐based scoping across models, AI and data themesAct as a senior SME and trusted advisor to Audit leadership and stakeholders
* Build strong partnerships across Technology, Risk, Legal and Compliance
* Coach and develop talent within the audit team
We're interested in hearing from people who have:
* Strong academic background in a quantitative discipline (e.g. mathematics, statistics, econometrics, physics, engineering or similar)
* Extensive experience in audit, risk, compliance or assurance roles
* Deep experience in model development, model validation, model risk and quantitative risk management
* Strong familiarity with APRA prudential standards relevant to models, particularly APS 113, APS 116 and APS 117
* Understanding of AI governance and model risk management
* Experience engaging with senior leaders and regulators
* Ability to balance technical depth with commercial judgement
* Excellent leadership, communication and influencing skills
