About the Role
As an APS5 Risk Manager within an Agricultural Program, you will evaluate agricultural product applications to ensure they meet Australia's standards for safety, efficacy, and trade. Working within established legislation and policy, you'll assess technical data, consult with stakeholders, and make recommendations that shape regulatory decisions and maintain confidence in Australia's agricultural systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Evaluate scientific and technical information to support risk assessments
* Apply legislation and policy to make recommendations on product registration
* Prepare correspondence, reports, briefs and policy documents
* Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
* Manage workflow to meet legislative timeframes and performance targets
* Handle confidential information in accordance with regulatory requirements
Skills & Experience
* Tertiary qualification in a relevant science field (e.g. biology, agricultural science, toxicology, entomology, pharmacology or related discipline)
* Understanding of, or ability to develop knowledge of, regulatory frameworks and risk assessment principles
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret scientific data
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with sound stakeholder management
* Proven ability to prioritise and manage competing workloads
* Demonstrated capacity to work effectively both independently and in a multidisciplinary team
