Who are we?Drug Awareness Rehabilitation and Management (Drug ARM) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to reducing harms associated with alcohol and other drug use. Since 1980, Drug ARM has been a specialist provider of alcohol and other drug services, operating across Queensland and parts of New South Wales.Our vision is to foster flourishing communities living free from the harms of alcohol and drugs, achieved through delivering high standards of awareness, rehabilitation, and management solutions.Program OverviewThis position facilitates access for the general community, especially families affected by methamphetamine and other drug use, to community services, resources, and entitlements. It aims to raise awareness about social issues related to ICE and other drugs through education, training, and professional development for service organizations.Position OverviewThe role involves providing information about ICE and understanding drug use, including how to respond to individuals affected by ICE and other drugs, highlighting their effects, risks, and harms to individuals, families, and the community.The Family Support Worker WillProvide advice on treatment options, help, and support.Equip families with skills and knowledge to navigate treatment systems.Implement methods to attract diverse community members seeking advice and support for ICE and other drugs.Develop referral relationships with complementary social/support services, including GPs, alcohol and drug services, mental health services, family support services, Indigenous health services, and phone support services.Work closely with child and family sectors, including protection systems. Participate in training, professional development, and cultural training with other providers. Foster peer support networks and support community services, including the Local Drug Action Team (LDAT). Ensure services meet the specific needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Queenslanders and culturally diverse communities.Regular travel is required for this role. A current Paid Blue Card is mandatory.
