WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR – AFTERNOON SHIFT

Direct Steel Traders is a growing steel supply business servicing builders, fabricators, and trade customers across Sydney. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Warehouse Supervisor to lead our afternoon shift operations and ensure customer orders are picked accurately, safely, and on time.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone with strong warehouse coordination skills, experience in the steel industry, and the ability to manage staff in a fast-paced environment.
Shift Details
* Monday to Friday
* Afternoon Shift: 1:00pm – 9:00pm
* Full-time position
* 6-month probation period
Pay Rate
* $35.00 per hour base rate
* Plus 15% afternoon shift loading
About the Role
As the Warehouse Supervisor, your main responsibility will be overseeing the daily warehouse operations to ensure all customer orders are picked, prepared, checked, and dispatched efficiently and accurately.
You will lead the afternoon team, coordinate workloads, monitor deadlines, and maintain a safe and productive warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and lead afternoon shift warehouse staff
* Ensure all customer orders are picked accurately and ready for dispatch on time
* Coordinate workflow and allocate daily tasks to staff
* Monitor picking, packing, loading, and dispatch operations
* Ensure trucks are loaded and unloaded safely and efficiently
* Maintain stock organisation and warehouse housekeeping
* Assist with resolving operational issues and delays
* Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with workplace safety procedures and Safe Work Statements
* Train and support warehouse staff where required
* Communicate effectively with management, drivers, and sales staff to meet customer requirements
The Successful Applicant Will Have
* Previous experience in a supervisory role within the steel, manufacturing, or warehouse industry
* Strong leadership and team management skills
* Experience loading and unloading trucks and handling steel products
* Good understanding of warehouse operations and dispatch procedures
* Experience working with Safe Work Statements and workplace safety requirements
* Ability to plan ahead, prioritise workloads, and problem solve under pressure
* A reliable, punctual, and professional attitude
* Ability to work independently and lead by example
* Forklift licence preferred
