4 Year Fixed-Term Executive Contract | TRP $200,000
Location: Yeppoon | Reports to: General Manager Corporate Services

What You Will Be Driving:

This position is central to Council’s financial health and strategic direction. You will lead a high-performing team across accounting, revenue, procurement, and fleet management, ensuring our financial systems are robust, future-ready, and aligned with Council’s long-term goals.

Here is what you will be driving:

- Drive strategic financial planning, governance frameworks, and risk management strategies.

- Oversee Council’s Annual Budget, reviews, and long-term financial forecasts.

- Provide expert advice on legislative changes, economic trends, and emerging risks.

- Lead procurement, fleet, and revenue functions to ensure compliance, best practice and efficiency.

- Foster a culture of resilience, innovation, and excellence within the team.

What You Will Bring:

You bring clarity in complexity, confidence in challenge, and a commitment to integrity. You lead with purpose, communicate with impact, and build trust across teams and stakeholders.

You will bring:

- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce or Financial Management.

- Current CPA membership (or equivalent).

- Proven experience leading financial services in a complex environment.

- Strategic thinking and the ability to align financial planning with organisational goals.

- Experience overseeing procurement processes and optimising fleet lifecycle management for efficiency and sustainability.

- High-level communication skills and proficiency in financial systems (Finance One, ECM, Pathways, MS Office).

- A current driver’s licence.

Bonus Points For:

- Experience in local government financial operations.

- A track record of driving innovation and continuous improvement in financial systems.
