Job Opportunity: Mapping and Spatial Data Specialist
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the Geographic Information System (GIS) and Land Information System (LIS), ensuring data accuracy and timely updates.
* Maintaining cadastre data, including processing subdivisions and plan registrations, property address numbers, updating of Deposited Plan Register.
* Managing deposited plans, including obtaining copies, registering images in Council's GIS.
* Coordinating street numbering, including allocation of urban and rural numbers, issuance of letters or notices to customers, updating of GIS datasets, ordering of new plates and numbers, checking against subdivisions.
This role requires strong technical skills, effective time management, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a diploma in a field covering spatial analysis, survey drafting, town planning/urban design mapping, environmental mapping, or equivalent experience. They will also be able to consult, share information, and work collaboratively, with a proactive approach to data management and a keen interest in mapping, property, and road naming.
About You:
* Diploma in a field covering spatial analyst, survey drafting, town planning/urban design mapping, environmental mapping, or equivalent experience.
* Ability to consult, share information, and work collaboratively.
* Demonstrated effective time management and prioritisation skills with the ability to balance competing workloads and deliver within deadlines.
* Experience as a system administrator of mapping systems, including maintenance of corporate cadastre and other spatial layers.
