About Breakthru

Breakthru is part of the Royal Rehab Group, delivering life-changing disability and rehabilitation services. You’ll work in the community, supporting people to access meaningful employment and build lasting careers.

Breakthru has been selected by the Department of Social Services to deliver the Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) program across key regions in New South Wales and Queensland. This role supports individuals with disability, injury or health conditions as they prepare for a meaningful career.

About the Role

As a Career Coach at Breakthru, you’ll guide individuals from the first conversation through job applications and interview preparation, helping them develop confidence and skills to achieve their career goals. You’ll work as part of a collaborative team to empower clients to take control of their future and enter the workforce.

Key Responsibilities

- Work closely with clients to plan career steps and assist in finding suitable job opportunities.
- Build strong relationships to understand each client’s goals, strengths, and support needs.
- Provide tailored coaching and regular check-ins to maintain motivation and progress.
- Connect participants with upskilling opportunities, hands-on experience, and group activities.
- Collaborate with employers and community services to create pathways to employment and training.
- Meet or exceed internal and external performance benchmarks.
- Champion Breakthru’s values of inclusion, empowerment, and person-centered practice.

About You

You bring empathy, energy and a drive to make a difference. You may have experience or a genuine passion for employment services. You’re outcomes-focused, highly organized, and thrive in a fast-paced, people-first environment. You enjoy getting to know each client’s strengths, goals and challenges and coaching them to build confidence. You also engage with employers to understand their needs and prepare candidates who are the right fit. You are proactive, professional, detail-oriented, and uphold a high standard of service with integrity and inclusive, person-centered support.

Essential Criteria

- Qualifications in Employment or Human Services (e.g., Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work) - desirable
- Experience in employment services and supporting people with disability, injury, or health conditions
- Ability to meet KPIs and create client-focused employment and skills plans
- Confidence in marketing clients to employers and facilitating group programs
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Knowledge of disability legislation, support strategies, and labour market trends
- Current Driver’s License - essential
