An exciting opportunity is now available for a qualified and experienced Trainer to join the South Australian Country Fire Service (CFS) Learning and Development Team within the Urban Training portfolio. This position is offered as a three-year contract.
As a State Training Officer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality training to staff and volunteers across South Australia, supporting CFS in its mission as an all-hazards fire and rescue service. You will contribute to building operational capability by delivering, assessing and mentoring across a range of training programs.
This role will have a primary focus on Road Crash Rescue (RCR) training, ensuring contemporary, safe and effective practices are embedded across the organisation. In addition, you will support broader Urban Team training initiatives as required, contributing to capability uplift and continuous improvement activities.

Primary Purpose of Role:
* Support the delivery of volunteer training and exercising in defined capability areas across the state
* Facilitate the delivery and assessment of nationally accredited training and approved training outcomes according to the VET Quality Framework
* Support the State Training Officer(s) with management of a volunteer training team in defined capability areas
* Support training resource development in the defined capability areas to ensure they are current and aligned with the Public Safety Training Package and other relevant training packages
* Ensure the implementation of training standards and plans for volunteer training within the State Training Strategic Plan
* Undertaking of an emergency support or incident management role, via a defined ‘operational’ on-call roster, with the potential to be re-called under emergency situations, to enable the provision of emergency service activities by CFS to the community. Whilst undertaking such operational roles, personnel will be required to work in emergency situations, which may include day, afternoon, night, or extended shifts.
Essential Qualifications:
* PUA20719 Certificate II in Public Safety (Firefighting Operations), or its equivalent; and
* TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent, or
* A diploma or higher-level qualification in adult education.
Remuneration:ASO4 $76,561 - $80,256
