POSITION OVERVIEW: The Consultant is a vital member of the Melbourne account team, responsible for delivering high-quality client services through a blend of technical expertise and relationship management. The Consultant is responsible for planning, organizing, process improvements, and executing projects and deliverables with precision and timeliness. This role involves developing, building, testing, and maintaining data architecture and ETL processes to ensure data access and display align with business requirements. The Consultant interprets and analyzes data, with experience in statistical modeling considered a bonus. Adaptability and fast learning are essential, as the role requires keeping pace with evolving technologies. The ability to work independently and project management skills are key, enabling the Consultant to organize and execute assignments effectively and efficiently. Technical proficiency with SQL, Python, SSIS, and Azure is required, along with the ability to conduct data analysis and prepare reports using visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI. Experience with GIS tools (QGIS, ArcInfo, Mapinfo) is a plus but not essential. The Consultant collaborates closely with internal and external partners, leveraging data-driven insights to support client objectives and drive successful project outcomes. This role has current Hybrid Workplace flexibility local to our Melbourne, Australia office. Candidate must be available and willing to work in-person two days per week, currently Mondays and Wednesdays. During the initial training, possibly a little more travel to the Melbourne office for the benefit of in-person learning. Plans, organizes, develops and delivers client-requested reports, deliverables and projects on time, adhering to client requested specifications. Designs, creates and manages client databases, utilizing Urban Science proprietary software, ensuring accurate and high-quality data. Serves as a contact for and develops relationships with the client to help respond to client requests and inquiries. Acquires and maintains a thorough understanding of client data for assigned projects to properly create client deliverables. Assume responsibility for accurate and high-quality data being utilized on assigned projects. Accurately performs application coding and testing functions associated with the development of custom client software. Tracks, processes, analyzes and verifies data to improve accuracy and quality. Use technical skills to accurately monitor, update and maintain Urban Science internal software systems. Attends project meetings to document meeting notes and stay up to date on project deliverables. Partners with internal teams to ensure that software is properly installed, set up and functioning at established quality levels. Adheres to quality control standards for Urban Science and client organizations. Coordinates with individuals or teams to complete analyses, tasks and projects on time and with high quality. Proactively communicates with management to provide updates and report issues in a timely manner. Actively works with manager to understand and implement solutions to improve NPS (client satisfaction). Actively supports and participates in required Urban Science training programs to achieve targeted development objectives. Works with manager in completing annual goal setting and performance review promptly. Provides training and coaching to Analysts as directed and assumes responsibility for reviewing the accuracy and quality of their work. Works with manager to prioritize other duties as assigned. Non-technical degrees will be considered if candidate possesses appropriate level of analytical and technical knowledge required for the role CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Progress towards: Apprentice level certification for one practice area Urban Science Ambassador Statistics 1 & Basic Statistics Assessment (or external equivalent) Intro to Operations Research (or external equivalent) WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
