What can you gain from completing a traineeship through Work & Training?
You would be employed by Work & Training – the largest employer of Apprentices and Trainees in Tasmania, and hosted for the duration of your traineeship.
You would receive professional guidance from your immediate supervisors, as well as mentoring and support from a Work & Training field officer.
The theory side of your qualification would be conducted one-on-one in the workplace, with expert tuition, by registered trainers from TasTAFE.
On completion of your traineeship, you would receive a nationally recognized Certificate III in Dental Assisting – HLT35021.
What would this involve?
Work Monday to Friday in the Dental Practice.
Assist dentists and hygienists chair-side.
Gain an understanding of the instruments and dental equipment used.
Train in sterilisation techniques for equipment.
Learn all about infection control.
Cover oral pathology and physiology.
Opportunity to assist with oral surgery.
Understand the administrative aspects of Dental Assisting.
Trainers come to the workplace to teach and assess.
Wage and Requirements
National Training Wage applies.
Driver's license and reliable car required.
Ability to obtain a Working with Vulnerable People Licence.
