Accounting Assistant Position
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented accounting assistant to join our growing team. This role involves end-to-end financial reporting, interacting with the wider group of businesses, and performing various tasks related to accounting and finance.
* Assist with month-end closure, including journal posting.
* Prepare the Profit and Loss statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement for Board and Executive Committee reporting.
* Respond to queries, highlighting trends, and potential issues through data analysis and interpretation.
* Perform balance sheet reconciliations.
* Prepare corporate tax, BAS, and FBT calculations and returns.
* Update the daily cash flow report and cash flow forecasting.
* Assist in budget preparation, group insurance renewals, and group audits.
* Undertake other ad-hoc projects as required.
Key Requirements
* A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in the financial accounting area.
* CPA or CA qualifications (or in the process of completing).
* Advanced Excel skills (Pivot tables, Lookups, and advanced formulas).
* Ability to interpret and analyse complex data.
* Sound understanding of accounting principles and Debits and Credits relating to day-to-day business transactions.
* Experience working with large ERP systems and system improvement projects.
