Job Description
Kirby Marine has been custom-designing and building marine vessels for 35 years. Based in the Henderson Marine Precinct of Western Australia (15 minutes south of the port of Fremantle), Kirby Marine's vessels can be found in oceans the world over – from local Recreational and Patrol vessels in Perth to Eco-Tourers in Tasmania and Patrol boats for Compliance and Rescue agencies in South Australia and Victoria. We are currently seeking for skilled and experienced Aluminium Fabricators to join our team in Henderson, WA.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Fabrication and construction of high standard small to medium size Aluminium boats.
* Using of electric and Pneumatic hand tools for manual cutting, dressing and clean-up of Alloy Materials.
* Using of machines for bending and shaping aluminum materials.
* Bending and shaping of Aluminum pipework.
* Operate and maintain tools and equipment in line with their operating limitations
* Identify/trouble shoot problems and execute solutions
* Always wear prescribed PPE
* Always promote the company in a positive manner
* Participate in training and meetings, as required
* Report any damage, incidents or unsafe equipment to the area manager
Qualifications and Requirements:
* Minimum of 5 years of experience as Metal Fabricator (Aluminum Fabricator)
* Experienced with fabrication and maintaining Marine Fabrication of Aluminum and MIG Welding
* Proficient in various welding application including MIG, Wire feed and TIG welding techniques
* Proficient in all fabrication techniques in the construction of Aluminium boats
* With good understanding of different alloy properties and functions
* Knowledgeable in Bending and shaping of Aluminum pipework
* Able to fabricate and finish materials to a high standard of workmanship
* Able to under and interpret engineering and construction drawings
Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 a year (commensurate to skills and experience)
