If yes, this may be the role for you The South Australian State Emergency Service (SASES) is seeking a Senior Business Support Officer (BSO) to join our team. The BSO is a pivotal role in supporting and empowering our volunteers in making the most of every dollar in their critical work.
About The Role
As the BSO, you will play a key role in the SASES's service delivery to its volunteers and staff. You will be responsible for a range of day-to-day finance matters, including but not limited to:
Financial operations and compliance: processing and monitoring of financial transactions, budgets and expenditure, supporting compliance with financial policies and delegations, and assisting in the identification of financial risks and mitigating controls.
Financial systems and process management: reviewing financial systems and processes with a lens of compliance and continuous improvement.
Reporting and analysis: research, analyse and report on financial information, including financial reporting for senior management as required.
Stakeholder support and training: establish and maintain effective working relationships with SES volunteers and staff, including the provision of training and guidance on financial processes, policies and procedures.
About You
Communication and engagement: you will have excellent communication skills and a genuine desire to support our dedicated volunteers and operational teams.
Values alignment: you will naturally embody our core values and be committed to achieving outcomes that advance our mission and bring our vision to life.
Finance and accounting knowledge: experience in financial operations, financial analysis and problem solving.
Technical proficiency: experience in the use of finance/procurement software systems and the Microsoft Office suite, including an intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Attention to detail: a keen eye for the detail and a focus on accuracy in your work.
A tertiary qualification in a relevant field or experience in the emergency services sector is not required for this role but would be advantageous.
