About Our Client
We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our high‑performing finance team. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy, integrity and compliance of financial reporting across the organisation. Working closely with leaders and internal stakeholders, you will provide timely, insightful financial information that supports strategic decision‑making and strong governance.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with strong technical skills, a proactive mindset and experience gained in a Big Four or mid‑tier accounting firm.
Job Description
Complete end‑of‑month accounting, reconciliations and reporting across various business units
Prepare monthly cashflow reports, cashflow forecasts, BAS and other compliance reporting
Manage merchandise or inventory accounting, fixed assets, accruals, prepayments and deferred revenue
Support the preparation of half‑year and year‑end statutory financial statements
Collaborate with internal teams to strengthen budgeting, forecasting and financial controls
Assist with insurance, risk management, compliance reporting and ad‑hoc finance projects
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial processes, systems, controls and reporting accuracy
Provide technical accounting guidance, including interpretation of relevant accounting standards
Oversee complex reconciliations and resolve issues across multiple systems or entities
Prepare high‑quality management reporting, including variance analysis and financial insights
Coordinate audit processes and prepare supporting documentation for external auditors
Mentor and support junior finance team members, including reviewing work and sharing technical knowledge
Contribute to the development and maintenance of financial policies, procedures and governance frameworks
The Successful Applicant
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or a related discipline
CA or CPA qualification (or near)
Strong practical experience in financial accounting, including reconciliations and statutory reporting
Experience within a Big Four or mid‑tier accounting firm (highly regarded)
Advanced Excel skills and exceptional attention to detail
Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across the business
High levels of professionalism, discretion and accountability
