Our Early Years Centre is a hub for families with children aged 0 – 8 years of age, offering health services, family support services and holistic early childhood education which wraps around support to families accessing our service. These include (but are not limited to) supported playgroups, parenting programs and family support to help children and families thrive.
Our Sessional Kindergarten, which is co-located with our Cairns Early Years Centre, enables children to enjoy indoor and outdoor natural play areas, rooms equipped with the latest age-appropriate technology and learning resources. The Kindergarten has two groups each week and caters for 22 children per day, with operating hours from 8:30am to 2:40pm during school terms.
About the role
Your role will assist children and families to access our Kindergarten by supporting them with the enrolment process and other Kindergarten tasks to support the teaching team as appropriate. In addition to this, there will also be opportunities to support the inclusion of all children within the Kindergarten room during the day if needed.
As the Kindergarten is co-located with the Early Years Centre, you will also be part of a multi-disciplinary team which includes Child and Family Practitioners, Allied Health Professionals, Child Health Nurses and Administration Officers.

Skills and Experience
* A minimum qualification of Certificate III of Children's Services is desirable, but not a requirement.
* Effective time management and organisational skills including the ability to be flexible
* Great people skills and the ability to create strong respectful relationships with children and families
* An understanding of child development and supporting children with additional needs
* A commitment to play based approaches to improve the long-term outcomes for children
* Experience identifying and addressing child protection concerns using a strengths based approach
* High level of professional accountability and integrity
* Experience with XAP an advantage.
* Current First Aid, CPR
* Current Blue Card (or eligible for one)
