The Opportunity
St John WA is seeking dynamic and experienced Registered Nurses with a strong medical background in Emergency Departments, mine sites, or remote locations to join our casual pool for FIFO roles across WA. About You
* Must be available throughout June to August.
* Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in fast-paced environments.
* Comfortable with night shifts
* Conduct periodical medicals to all mine staff personnel
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with diverse individuals and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Strong understanding of occupational health and safety principles
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver high-quality nursing care, including assessments, treatment, and health education, to the workforce at Rio Tinto sites.
* Conduct health screenings, provide emergency response and first aid services, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, participate in health promotion activities, and contribute to ongoing training and professional development initiatives.
Requirements:
* Registered Nurse with current unrestricted AHPRA registration.
* Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably in emergency, mining or rural/remote.
* Current CPR certificate
* Driver's Licence (C) - Manual
* National Police clearance Certificate (issued within last three months)
* Cannulation competent
* Drug and Alcohol Tester Certificate (HLTPAT005)
* Advance First Aid (CPR) Certificate or ALS1 or ALS2 Certificate
* Certificate III in Response and Rescue - desirable but not required
* Rio Tinto Induction (under 1 year validity) - desirable but not required
