We seek a highly motivated and results-oriented Production Manager to join our team. AUSPERL is a privately owned Australian based mineral processing business with a 24/7 processing facility in Padstow, NSW and 3PL distribution from central locations nationwide. We have offices and processing facilities in NZ, Spain, Thailand, and the US. Our team produces various perlite products for filtration, insulation, and construction applications as well as exfoliating vermiculite, and trading a range of chemicals and minerals. Our clients are some of the large businesses in Australia and include wineries, breweries, refineries industrial manufacturers, horticulturalists, and operators of the largest aquatic centres (to name a few). Responsibilities Production Management Setting rosters and liaising with production staff to ensure production requirements are met; Ensuring factory personnel are adhering to key production performance indicators; Ensuring finished products meet internal specifications and standards; and Coordination of production staff training & development, and recruitment as required. Repairs & Maintenance Ensuring maximisation of plant availability; Overseeing the maintenance plan to maximise plant uptime and reliability; Ensuring day to day repairs, maintenance, and modifications are completed effectively; Undertaking repairs and maintenance tasks; Supervising and coordinating external contractors for specialised repairs or projects; Maintaining critical spare parts inventory and manage associated costs; and Ensuring maintenance activities comply with WHS standards. Engineering Projects Managing new plant upgrades, installation and engineering projects; Assisting with new product development and technical commercialization; Identifying areas for plant design improvement and automation; and Designing plant and equipment as required. Health & Safety Promoting and enforcing a strong safety culture across operations and maintenance teams; Ensuring compliance with company WHS policies, legislative requirements, and safe work practices; Participating in toolbox talks, incident investigations, and safety audits; and Liaising with the Health & Safety Officer to ensure the safe operation of all plant and machinery and to ensure the site operates within established legislation. Warehouse Management Overseeing warehouse operations and inventory storage; Ensuring accurate stock management and reporting; and Supporting procurement of parts and consumables. Quality Management Supporting the Quality Manager as required, and liaising with clients; and Ensuring full compliance with all aspects of Ausperl’s Quality Management Systems. Support Providing general support to all divisions of the group in order to maximize both divisional and group profitability; Providing leadership to operations and maintenance teams to drive performance and accountability; and Developing staff capability through coaching and training. Attributes Proven leadership experience in production, operations, or maintenance within manufacturing/processing; Strong technical knowledge of plant and equipment; Demonstrated ability to manage maintenance plans and production schedules; Sound knowledge of WHS and quality compliance; Strong interpersonal and communication skills; and A formal qualification in engineering, manufacturing or related fields is desirable.
