We are committed to creating maximum value for our customers by providing innovative and competitive solutions and services delivered through an enabled and highly engaged team.The Field Engineering team is part of the System Integration International organisation, and is responsible for designing and guiding the technical implementation of government and commercial communications system solutions, leveraging new technologies and approaches sourced from both inside and outside of Motorola Solutions.The Field Engineering role forms part of multi-disciplined project teams to design and deliver complex mission critical voice and data systems.
The systems may be used directly by our customers or by Motorola Solutions to deliver Managed Services to our customers.
The Field Engineers work in the post sales phases of projects and may support multiple projects in a given period depending on size and complexity.
There may also be a requirement to provide support to Pre-sales and Services Organisation.The Field Engineer role can operate at different levels within the organisation and/or projects.
The level of the role will be determined by the size and complexity of the project or activity as well as the level of the individual within the organisation.
The Field Engineering role can be fulfilled at any level within the Technical Staff (TS) career ladder, however, engineering staff at lower levels will focus on smaller projects or elements of larger projects with a higher level of supervision.Job DescriptionRD-S153 - Apps/Sys Engineer - Post-Sales - Non-Sales Plan - Post-sales position in which predominant job responsibilities and requirements occur after the sale of the company's product to the client.
Provides post-sales technical expertise during the installation, implementation and maintenance of company products.
May be involved in implementing detailed customer installation requirements.
Ensures that client's needs have been met and that the product/solution is fully functioning according to specification.
May provide follow-up support to company sales staff and customer personnel by disseminating technical information on specific applications.

IP-DY - Systems Architecture - Responsible for the complete design of a company product or system from technical roadmap to architectural designs.
Defines appropriate platforms and system specifications.
Determines core server infrastructure, capacity planning, storage requirements and networking protocols.
Develops technical, tactical and strategic plans, systems definition and feasibility determination.Manage and/or perform implementation of communication system solutions and services which satisfy the requirements of the customer, end user and operatorProvides technical support for Solution Staging, as requiredLead or participate in Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) while coordinating the technical aspects of the acceptance testing.Responsible for the installation, integration, testing, and commissioning of MSI and 3rd party solutions (with support from supplier/vendor)Responsible for identifying, investigating and troubleshooting of technical issues during project implementationResponsible for on-site Acceptance Tests, while coordinating the technical aspects of the acceptance testing.Update of technical documentation and technical change managementProvide technical support during all project phases through to handover to Support organisationCommunications - Attend customer meetings, status updates, provide project reporting.Provide on-site or remote support to the customers and partnersResponsible for self development through an agreed training plan, experience and knowledge transfer.Leading the field deployment and day-to-day activities: Deploying, Configuring, commissioning, Testing and troubleshooting systems and solutions.Knowledge transfer from the design team to the implementation team and customer.
