Here's What You'll Be Up To
* As a Development Engineer, you'll play an important role in shaping the future growth of Penrith through the planning, assessment and delivery of development and infrastructure projects across our City.
* Working within our Development Engineering team, you'll provide engineering advice and undertake assessment on a range of development applications, infrastructure works and subdivision projects.
* You'll collaborate closely with Senior Engineers, internal teams, developers, consultants, government agencies and the wider community to ensure projects are delivered in line with legislative requirements and Council objectives.
* This role offers exposure to a diverse range of engineering challenges across both urban and rural development environments, giving you the opportunity to grow your technical capability while making a genuine impact on the City's future.
* Success in this role means delivering high-quality engineering outcomes, building strong stakeholder relationships and contributing positively to the Development Engineering team.
* This is a permanent full-time opportunity.

Requirements
Essential criteria
* A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related field (applicant's nearing completion of a degree qualification will be considered)
* Practical experience in all engineering aspects of land development (preferably in Local Government)
* Experience in civil engineering design and construction associated with rural and urban development
* A sound knowledge of legislation as it relates to the position of a Development Engineer in Local Government
* Excellent communication skills
* A current Class C Driver Licence
Desirable criteria
* An understanding of civil engineering issues associated with the planning and delivery of infrastructure in new release areas
* An ability to identify, analyse and solve engineering related issues
* An understanding of flood and storm water management principles associated with land management and development
* A sound knowledge of Environmental Planning Instruments, Development Control Plans and other planning controls and policies
